Dr Andrew Burgess has been practicing since 2004 as a sports and performance based Chiropractor in Bondi Junction. He uses a multidisciplinary approach with specific detail in functional assessments, soft tissue releases, chiropractic adjusting and rehabilitation.
His goal is to restore health, mobility and function to is fullest and maintain people at an optimal state of function for peak performance. He continues to advance his skills in the most scientific and results orientated techniques to provide his patients the most effective treatment. He has a network of successful local medical and specialist practitioners to assist his patients when needed for diagnostics and care when needed.
He has been a very successful practitioner over this time working to improve chiropractic’s profile in the local and sporting communities. He is a surf specialist chiropractor working for the World Surf League (WSL) (former ASP), Surfing Australia and Surfing NSW and their athletes.
He was also promoted to the small group of highly skilled international practitioners who work on the World Championship Tour (WCT). Over the years he has worked on numerous events for the World Qualifying Series (WQS) and World Pro Junior Series which include the Australian Open of Surfing, Drug Aware Margaret River Pro, Boost Air Shows, Surfest and the Triple Crown of Surfing. Andrew’s lifelong love of surfing also continues into skate boarding where he works closely with a number of professional skateboard riders and appears regularly at Bowlerama at Bondi Beach each year.
Bondi Junction and the Eastern Suburbs large Irish community have adopted Andrew as their sports chiropractor for Gaelic Football, Hurling and Camogie teams. He has been working with a number of GAA Sydney clubs since 2007 as a chiropractor and strength and conditioning coach. He has very close relationship sponsoring the Cormac Mcananallens GAC and working with the Penrith Gaels, Shamrocks and Coast club players.
Since 2007 Andrew has worked with a number of professional boxes from World Champions, Asian Pacific and national Australian champions while in Australia. He attends regular boxing tournaments and also is the head health supervisor and chiropractor for The Fighting Academy Experience.
In 2014 and 2015 he enjoyed working with members of the Sydney Swans AFL club and looks after a number of football clubs in the area including Aussie rules AFL, rugby league, rugby union. He is a current sponsor of The Randwick City Football Club and works as team chiropractor and assistant strength and conditioning coach.
He is currently conducting his own research at Macquarie University with Surfing NSW on the healthy lifestyles of adult competitive surfers and designing other studies to be conduct in the future. He sponsor as number of high profile athletes, sporting clubs and events and will be sponsoring the first World Qualifying Surf Series in NSW.
